Foundation stone of the college was laid on 1 March 1990 by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. A sum of Rs. 40 million was provided by the Federal Government for construction of the initially required buildings. The college was inaugurated on 10 May 1993 by the then Quartermaster General of Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Muhammad Arif Bangash. Hl(M), S Bt. Regular classes commenced in March 1993. Colonel Muhammad Idrees Niazi (Retd) was the first principal. He assumed his charge in September 1992 and retired on 2nd December 1995. Thereafter, Brigadier Talat lmtaiz Naqvi (Retd) assumed the charge on 3 December 1995 as second principal. After his retirement from the college in December 2001, Brigadier Tariq Saeed (Retd) assumed the charge as principal on 25 March 2002. On 31 March 2013 Brig Munawar Alam Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) assumed the charge as principal.
