History of Garrison Cadet College Kohat

  • Garrison Cadet College Kohat (GCCK) is located at Dhoda Road, Kohat Cantt.
  • Foundation stone was laid on 1 March 1990 by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and a sum of Rs 40 Million was sanctioned for construction of the initially required buildings. Formal inauguration was held on 10th May 1993 by the then Quartermaster General Pak Army, Lieutenant General Muhammad Arif Bangash. The College is a parents’ financed residential educational institution which caters for education from Class 8 to HSSC level.
  • To impart quality education and develop various facets of cadets’ personality with particular emphasis on character building, patriotism and discipline thereby transforming them into balanced and responsible citizens of Pakistan.
  • Garrison Cadet College Kohat is being managed, administered by Principal (Serving Brig) who works under directions of Board of Governors (BOG) headed by General Officer Commanding Kohat Garrison. Members Board of Governors include Provincial Secretaries of Education, Establishment, Finance, Planning and Development Departments and senior military and civil officials of local administration Kohat Division.
    GCCK campus is spread over an area of 85 Acres donated by Pak Army. College has an Academic Block, Auditorium, 6 Hostels, Computer / Language Labs, Library, Science Labs, Mosque, number of playgrounds, squash courts, gymnasium, swimming pool, horse riding club and an Administration Block. College facilities cater for 650 (+) Cadets at one time.
